A.Introduction of USTB

University of Science and Technology Beijing was founded in 1952 and has developed into one of the most influentil key national universities in china.Its main focus is on engineering,while maintaining a balanced program consisting of science, management, humanities, economics and law.

USTB is part of the 211 Project, which is designed to develop a hundred first rate universities in the 2lst century.In 2006,USTB was selected as the“Platform for National Advanced Disciplines Innovation"program. In 2014, the“collabora- tive innovation center of steel technology", led by USTB and Northeastern University, was chosen to be part of the national “2011Plan”. B.Introduction of Chinese Government Scholarship

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsorinternational students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities.

The scholarship includes Bilateral Program, Chinese University Program and etc.. Please check more information on the website (www.campuschina.org).

Scholarship Coverage

Full scholarship: Tuition fee,accommodation on campus, Living allowance, Medical Insurance.

Partial scholarship: One or some items of the full scholarship.

C.Eligibility

• Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People's Republic of China, and be in good health. The requirements for applicants' degree and age are that applicants must:

• be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for the undergraduate programs;

• be a bachelor's degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master's programs;

• be a master's degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs;

• be under the age of45 and have a high school diploma(or higher) when applying for the general scholar programs;

• be a master's degree holder or an associate professor(or above) under the age of 50 when applying for the senior scholar programs.

D.Application Documents

a)Home page of valid ordinary passport.

b) Notarized certificates of bachelor and master in Chinese or English.Graduating students or  applicants employed should provide the certificate of pre-graduation or employment.

c)Academic transcripts.

d) Language proficiency letter.

e)Chinese-taught program: HSK transcript.

f)English-taught program:IELTS or TOFEL or other official English proficiency letter.

g)Personal Statement(Study Plan).800 words or above for master, 1500 words or above for  doctorate.

h) Recommendation Letters. Two letters from professors or associate professors in Chinese or  English.

i)Foreigner Physical Examination Form.

j)None Criminal Record Report,which is issued within 6 months prior to the submission  date.

k) Applicants for arts programs must submit 6 of their own works at least.

E. Type of Schalorship

a) Bilateral Program (Type A)

Bilateral Program includes a full or partial scholarship established by MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or consensus between Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities or international organizations.

Apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study of your home country, or Chinese embassy.

Between early January and early April

2.Supporting Category

Bachelor, Master, Doctorate, General Scholar, Senior Scholar, Chinese Language.

3.Application Procedure

Apply to the dispatching authorities or Chinese embassy for scholarship opportunity.

Apply to USTB for the Pre-admission Letter(admission@ustb.edu.cn).

Complete the online application procedure at System(www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or   www.campuschina.org).

Choose type A, and you should consult the dispatching authorities or Chinese embassy for  Agency Number. Choose“USTB”as the first choice.

b)Chinese University Program (Type B)

Chinese University Program is a scholarship for designated Chinese universities to recruit outstanding international students for graduate studies in China.

Apply to USTB directly.

1.Application Period

Between December 15th and next March 31th.

2.Supporting Category

Master, Doctorate

Applicants for Chinese-taught programs should have achieved HSK Level IV or above, and  may choose l year’s study of Chinese preparatory.

3.Application Procedure

Complete the USTB online application procedure (online- apply.ustb.edu.cn), and pay the  application fee(CNY600).

Complete the online application procedure at CGS System (www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina    or www.campuschina.org). Choose type B, and Agency Number is 10008.

Placement& Confirmation

USTB sends the Admission Letter and Visa Application Form(JW201) to scholarship  recipients.
